Director : Jiyon Jennifer Kim
Greetings to all of you!
I am truly honored to join DreamTree Preschool as Director. My passion for educating young children began during my studies in child development courses at the University of Washington in 1995. After earning degrees in Speech and Hearing Science and Linguistics from UW, I discovered the Montessori Approach to early childhood education and found it profoundly inspiring. In 2003, I completed my teaching certificate through the Montessori Teacher Preparation of Washington.
Since then, my journey as an educator has taken me to diverse schools across Vancouver, Canada; Orange County, California; and even Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Throughout these experiences, I have had the privilege of creating new programs and transforming existing ones into extraordinary environments for learning and growth. Witnessing hundreds of children blossom into responsible individuals and seeing new parents gain confidence as they guide their children has been immensely rewarding.
Now, as I embark on this exciting new chapter with DreamTree—a bilingual Korean-English school—I wholeheartedly invite you all to join me in this wonderful journey. Together, we will walk alongside our children and nurture them as they prepare for a future that is brighter than ever. I look forward to working closely with all of you and building a community where every child can thrive.

드림트리 유치원의 원장으로 함께하게 되어 진심으로 영광입니다. 저는 1995년 워싱턴대학교에서 아동발달 과정을 공부하면서 어린아이들을 교육하는 것에 대한 열정을 키우게 되었습니다. 워싱턴대학교에서 언어청각학과 언어학 학위를 취득한 후, 유아교육에 대한 몬테소리 접근법을 접하게 되었고, 그 교육철학이 매우 인상 깊었습니다. 2003년에는 워싱턴주 몬테소리 교사 준비 과정을 통해 교사 자격증을 취득했습니다.
그 이후, 제 교육 여정은 캐나다 밴쿠버와 캘리포니아 오렌지 카운티를 비롯하여, 두바이와 아부다비에 이르는 다양한 학교들로 이어졌습니다. 그 과정에서 새로운 프로그램을 만들고, 기존 프로그램을 특별한 학습 환경으로 변화시키는 데 기여했습니다. 수백 명의 아이들이 책임감 있는 개개인으로 성장하고, 새로운 부모님들이 자신감 있게 아이들을 지도하는 모습을 보는 것은 제게 큰 보람이었습니다.
이제 드림트리와 함께하는 이 새로운 여정을 시작하며, 저는 여러분 모두가 이 아름다운 여정을 함께해 주시기를 진심으로 바랍니다. 우리의 아이들과 함께 걸으며, 더 밝은 미래를 준비하는 데 함께 동행해 주시기를 바랍니다. 여러분과 긴밀히 협력하며, 모든 아이들이 성장하고 번영할 수 있는 커뮤니티를 만들어 가는 데 힘쓰겠습니다.

Woori Class (Preschool) : Jung A Chu
Jung-A joined Dream Tree as a Lead Teacher in 2024, bringing over four years of teaching experience from the United Seattle Bellevue Korean School since 2020. She has also served as an instructor for the Ottogi Parenting Class at the Korean Community Service Center since 2020 and gained valuable experience in educating parents of young children.
With her degree in Nutritional Culinary Science from Korea, she contributes to the children's well-being through balanced and healthy food options at DreamTree. Additionally, her experience as a cooking instructor at Nanoom Korean Cooking Class allows her to offer unique and enjoyable cooking classes, adding a fun and engaging element to the children's learning experience.
Jung-A is dedicated to fostering children's holistic development and is excited about the opportunity to grow with the children. Her passion for early childhood education and commitment to nurturing young minds make her a valuable addition to the DreamTree team.
Woori Class (Preschool) - Jiyun Kwon
안녕하세요, 드림트리 가족에 새로 합류하신 권지윤 선생님을 소개드립니다. 선생님께서는 영어 교육 자격증을 보유하고 계시며, 한국에서 다년간 K-12 학생들을 대상으로 독서와 작문을 가르친 풍부한 경험을 가지셨습니다. 또한, 유아교육 자격증을 취득하신 후, 유아들을 대상으로 교육하신 경력이 있으십니다.
권지윤 선생님은 어린이들의 성장을 돕고 발달을 촉진하는 데 깊은 열정을 가지고 계십니다. 선생님의 이러한 열정과 전문성은 드림트리의 교육 목표와 완벽히 일치하며, 앞으로 드림트리의 교육 커뮤니티에 많은 긍정적인 영향을 주실 것으로 기대됩니다.

Ms. Kwon holds an English teaching credential and has extensive experience teaching K-12 students in reading and writing during her time in Korea. Her expertise extends to early childhood education, having earned a specialized certificate and worked with preschool-aged children before coming to the United States.
Her passion for fostering growth and development in young learners aligns beautifully with DreamTree's mission. We are excited to see Ms. Kwon contribute her skills and enthusiasm to our school, and we look forward to the positive impact she will have on our children.

Woori Class (Preschool) - Mary Floyd
Hi, my name is Mary, and I am so excited to be joining DreamTree as an Assistant Preschool Teacher! I have worked with children of all ages, ranging from newborns to teenagers, since 2007. After completing my bachelor’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience from Gonzaga University, I worked for a few years in technical recruiting before deciding to redirect my career towards organizations that served children. I worked as the Human Resources Manager at Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue for three years, where I was heavily involved with the preschool program supporting children ages 3-5 years old. I have always had a passion for education and early childhood development and am thrilled to be joining the Montessori community. I have had the privilege of watching many young children learn, grow, adapt, and blossom into incredible young individuals and am excited to be a part of that process at DreamTree.
Sarang Class (Preschool & K) - Joy Jiyoon Jo
Hello, my name is Joy, and I am thrilled to be part of the DreamTree Preschool community.
After graduating from university in Korea in 2007, I worked as a social worker for eight years. My experiences in that field deepened my understanding of child development and the importance of supporting each child’s emotional and social growth.
After moving to Seattle in 2017, I joined the Montessori teacher education program and began working in Montessori classrooms with children ages 2.5 to 6. I earned my Montessori certification from the International Association of Progressive Montessori (IAPM) in 2021. Since then, I have continued to guide young learners with a deep respect for their individual needs, interests, and pace.
I speak Korean, English, and Japanese, and I have a strong passion for supporting dual language learners. I’m especially mindful of helping children maintain their home language while growing in an English-speaking environment.
Currently, I’m also studying part-time to continue expanding my knowledge in early childhood education. I find great joy in observing each child closely, supporting their development, and creating a warm, joyful learning experience every day.
I look forward to learning and growing alongside your children at DreamTree.
안녕하세요, 8월 부터 DreamTree 유치원과 함께할 조지윤 입니다.
저는 2007년 한국에서 대학을 졸업한 후 8년 동안 사회복지사로 근무했습니다. 이 경험은 아동 발달에 대한 이해를 깊게 해주었고, 각 아동의 정서적·사회적 성장을 지원하는 것이 얼마나 중요한지를 깨닫게 해주었습니다.
2017년에 미국으로 이주한이후 몬테소리 교사 자격증 과정을 시작하면서 만 2.5세에서 6세 아동들을 위한 몬테소리 교실에서 일하기 시작했습니다. 2021년에는 국제진보몬테소리협회(IAPM)로부터 교사 자격증을 취득하였고, 그 이후로도 각 아동의 개별적인 필요와 관심, 그리고 발달 속도를 존중하며 아이들을 지도해오고 있습니다.
저는 한국어, 영어, 일본어를 구사하며, 이중 언어 아동들을 지원하는 데에 큰 열정을 가지고 있습니다. 특히 영어 환경 속에서도 아이들이 자신의 모국어를 유지할 수 있도록 돕는 데에 주의를 기울이고 있습니다.
현재는 유아교육에 대한 지식을 더욱 넓히기 위해 파트타임으로 공부를 병행하고 있습니다. 매일 아이들의 발달을 가까이에서 관찰하고 따뜻하고 즐거운 학습 경험을 만들어가는 데에서 큰 기쁨을 느낍니다.

Nara Class (Transitional)-Jeongmi Heo
안녕하세요! 드림트리유치원의 일원이 되어 정말 기쁘고 기대가 됩니다. 저는 한국에서 유치원 예술 센터를 운영하며 12년 동안 아이들과 함께한 경험을 바탕으로, 어린이 교육에 대한 기본적인 이해를 쌓아왔습니다. 이후 미국에서 몇 년간 어린이 교육에 종사하며 다양한 문화와 아이들의 잠재력에 대한 깊은 통찰을 얻을 수 있었습니다.
이제 이러한 경험을 바탕으로, 따뜻한 격려 속에서 아이들이 각자의 가능성을 마음껏 펼칠 수 있도록 돕는 것이 저의 목표입니다. 아이들과 함께 즐겁게 배우고 성장해 나갈 수 있기를 기대하며, 여러분과 소중한 시간을 함께하게 되어 기쁩니다.

I am delighted to introduce myself as a new member of the Dream Tree Preschool family. It is truly an honor to be part of this wonderful community.
I have a background in piano music and have spent over 12 years dedicated to child care as the owner and director of a preschool art center in Korea. This experience allowed me to develop a deep understanding of early childhood education and the importance of fostering creativity in young minds. In addition, my years of working in child care in the U.S. have further enriched my perspective.
My goal is to create a nurturing and encouraging environment where every child feels supported and inspired to explore their unique talents. I firmly believe that with warmth, guidance, and the joy of learning, we can help each child develop confidence and curiosity that will stay with them throughout their educational journey.
Nara Class (Transitional) - Hyokyung Jo
Hello! I am Jo Hyo-kyung. I obtained my qualification as a childcare teacher in Korea and have worked in daycare centers for several years, caring for children from newborns to three years old. Every moment with the children has been joyful, and witnessing their growth up close has been incredibly rewarding. I also hold a certification as an after-school instructor, and I have experience working as a club activity teacher at a middle school. Through interactions with children of various ages, from infants to teenagers, I have naturally developed communication and leadership skills that match their levels. Currently, I am working as a preschool teacher at a Korean school. Additionally, I completed the "Parent-Child Safety Professional Education" program conducted by Dankook University’s Graduate School of Health and Welfare, making me confident in creating a safe and warm childcare environment. My biggest goal is to build a space where children can grow up smiling and feeling comfortable, and to be a teacher who genuinely engages with them. Nice to meet you!
안녕하세요. 저는 조효경입니다! 한국에서 보육교사 자격을 취득하고, 수년간 어린이집에서 0세부터 3세까지 다양한 연령의 아이들과 함께하며 보육교사로 근무해왔어요. 아이들과 함께하는 시간이 늘 즐겁고, 그만큼 아이들의 성장을 가까이에서 지켜보는 게 큰 보람이기도 했죠. 방과후지도사 자격도 가지고 있어서, 중학교에서 클럽활동 교사로 활동한 경험도 있어요. 유아부터 청소년까지, 다양한 연령의 아이들과 함께하며 자연스럽게 눈높이에 맞는 소통과 지도력을 키워왔습니다. 현재는 한국학교 유아반 교사로 근무 중이며, 단국대학교 보건복지대학원에서 실시한 '학부모 아동 안전 전문교육'도 이수하여, 안전하고 따뜻한 보육환경을 만드는 데에도 자신이 있어요. 아이들이 편안하게 웃고 자랄 수 있는 공간을 만드는 것, 그리고 그 안에서 진심을 다해 함께하는 교사가 되는 것이 저의 가장 큰 목표입니다. 만나서 반갑습니다!

안녕하세요, DreamTree Preschool에 새롭게 합류하게 된 김예진 선생님입니다. 저는 한국에서 음악학원 원장으로 아이들을 가르치며 교육의 즐거움과 보람을 깊이 느껴왔습니다. 그 열정을 이어 미국에 오게 되었고, 이곳에서 몬테소리 교육을 접하면서 유아교육에 대한 관심이 더욱 깊어졌습니다. 현재 Montessori Teacher Preparation fo WA 에서 교사과정 공부중에 있으며 아이들의 성장과 배움을 따뜻하게 지켜보며 함께하고 싶다는 마음으로 Dream Tree School의 가족이 되었습니다. 앞으로 아이들과 함께 소중한 배움의 여정을 만들어가기를 기대합니다. 잘 부탁드립니다!
Hello, my name is Ye-Jin Kim, and I am excited to join Dream Tree School.
In Korea, I worked as the director of a music academy, where I found immense joy and fulfillment in teaching children. That passion led me to the United States, where I discovered Montessori education, deepening my interest in early childhood education. While taking the Montessori Teacher Certificate course I am thrilled to be part of the Dream Tree School family, eager to nurture and support children's growth and learning with warmth and care. After Care- June Shin
Ms. Hwayoung Shin (Ms. June) joined DreamTree in November and currently oversees the aftercare program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. She majored in Early Childhood Education in Korea and worked as a kindergarten teacher for seven years before moving to the United States in 2021 to pursue Montessori teacher training. She received her certification in 2024. With her love for children and dedication to the principles of Montessori education, Ms. June brings clarity and brightness to DreamTree's aftercare progr
